WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT 📣📣📣
Anthony D. Armstrong, aka Slimboogie, is a Los Angeles–born movement specialist with over 16 years in the street dance community. Internationally recognized, Slim has taught, competed, judged, and performed worldwide—traveling to New York, China, Italy, Paris, Sweden and Spain. His achievements include winning Dance@Live Japan ($10,000 prize), Freestyle Session 2018, being a UK BBOY Championship finalist, appearing in Katy Perry’s “Hot and Cold” music video, and so much more.
Slim is the founder of THE BATTLE GAMES, one of LA’s largest street dance events, and a pioneer of the $5 outdoor parking-lot classes in Downtown Los Angeles that grew into a global movement. What began with five students became a community of 50+ students built in inclusivity and respect. Slim even used class fees to buy students pizza, reinforcing his mission to build culture, not profit.
The movement expanded into a warehouse space where Slim hosted events and invited legendary teachers such as Poppin’ Pete, Suga Pop, Acky, Hoan, and more—ensuring all proceeds went directly to the instructors. His events attracted both rising dancers and established artists alike.
Through THE LOT ORIGINAL, Slim produced major international qualifiers, including Funkin Styles Germany, hosting over 450 dancers and sending U.S. representatives overseas. His ultimate goal is to create a street dance environment where skill, dedication, love, and respect define success.
Slim also studies positive psychology through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and music theory, shaping a movement style that is clear, dynamic, intuitive, and universal—a style that defines Slim
